An amount of €1 or €2 is displayed when you register a new bank card. Why?

A pre-authorisation is carried out when a new payment method is added to your Marcel account

The system must test the validity of your card with your bank by issuing a bank authorisation, which is instantly cancelled.

The transaction is automatically cancelled as soon as it has been validated.

⚠️ Please note: The transaction may continue to appear "in process" for 24 working hours before disappearing without any final debit. This is to prevent fraudulent use of a credit card by a third party.

Depending on the banking institution, bank authorisations of €1 or €2 may be required.

When validating 3D Secure, the amount to be validated may be €1 or €2 for this reason. In this case, you just need to validate the 3DS and complete the checkout process. You will never be debited for this amount.

If this transaction appears on your bank account:

  • It will be cancelled very quickly or offset by a credit line for the same amount.
  • If you have a deferred debit card, it may take up to 30 days for your bank to cancel this transaction.
  • You can contact your bank if you have any questions about its authorisation management policy.
