Why is my phone number requested?
To ensure that your journey is as pleasant and stress-free as possible, Marcel asks for your mobile phone number when you create your account in order to:
- Notify you by text message when your driver arrives (when notifications are not possible)
- Send you your driver’s contact details so that you can contact them easily
A notification is sent via the mobile application by default. However, if it is impossible to send a notification (internet connection interrupted, application turned off, etc.) or if the booking concerns a third-party passenger, a text message is sent.
Your telephone number will never be sold to third parties for advertising purposes.
Please note: If a landline number is provided, Marcel will be unable to contact you and this may prevent the driver from finding you. In this case, cancellation fees may be applied. Also, our system does not allow the same phone number to be registered on two customer accounts.
